Summer 2009

Sat Sep 19, 2009, 7:01 PM
Not the journally type, but for a quick lowdown of the summer-

My Fujifilm S2Pro (amongst some other gear) got nicked by some squatters next door, but thanks to Aviva it's been replaced with all the high-end Nikon stuff, so swings and roundabouts.

After deciding to settle down and concentrate on some coursework before the beginning of term, I managed to stab myself in the hand with a Stanley knife which resulted in a trip to St Heliers and a couple of steristrips. Whoops

I worked on a film! An independant one albeit, but it's predecessor went to Cannes and did very well. I was approached by the director with a couple of days notice, after wacking my way through a potentially lethal amount of Rock Star, I managed to finish on daybreak of shooting with 90 minutes to spare for sleep before I had to take varied silicone body parts in a box on the tube to a flat in North London absolutely crammed with strangers. After quickly coming to terms with the fact that they wern't going to kill and eat me, I had a very fun day, the scene (that my stuff was being used in) was a murder, so all the windows and walls had bin liners taped to them and studios lights all over the shop, so...VERY hot! Everyone was very nice, the director was so pleased with my work, he wants to work with me again, and when the film's finished I'll be on IMDB! YAAAY! I've been dying to make a film with people from uni since 2006, but unfortunately not everyone is as passionate as I had hoped. I'm also planning on making either a short film or a music video with my friend Muddy (a CGI animator who's done stuff for the BBC and Channel 4), the guy has great ideas and it'll be fantastic to collaborate with him, we just both need to be free at the same time!!!!!!!!!

So all in all, fairly eventful for good and bad reasons, I'll be back at uni in about a fortnight where I'll be exchanging sleeping hours and my social life with trying to do my final piece. But naturally I've already penned in about 12 gigs into my diary before December...

  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: esOterica - The Empire of Eyes
  • Reading: Clive Barker - Babel's Children
  • Drinking: Sailor Jerry
